dana tanamachi

i have total job envy! i've always wanted to be the artist to do the chalk boards in coffee shops or make the signs at whole foods. well, dana tanamachi does just that. you may recognize her work from the february 2012 O magazine cover or the tommy hilfiger ads. she is an incredible graphic designer who specializes in chalk boards. imagine her designing something for your wedding : a photo back drop, a fun menu or escort cards!

live what you love!

epic hotel wedding

this past sunday i assisted lola event productions with a gorgeous wedding at epic restaurant  downtown chicago. it was so much fun + i learned a lot! i didn't have time to take any photos, but i make mental notes on what i liked about LOLA's managerial style, the wedding's design + personal touches implemented by the couple.

this particular couple chose to have a "first look" moment, where they see each other
before the wedding.i thought it was so sweet, + the photographer got some great shots!
via allori photography
the escort cards at the wedding were in the theme of chicago's el map;
each table was a different el line, much like these train station themed escort cards.

santa fe.
the couple projected their monogram on an accent wall at the restaurant.
this idea seemed silly to me initially (reminded me of batman!),
but it looked incredible, much like this photo featured above.
found via sweet chic events

the accent color of the wedding was orange, + all the groomsmen wore orange socks and ties - loved it!

overall, the event was beautiful + had the perfect modern edge that reflected the couple's style. i took away many ideas, information + am looking forward to the next LOLA wedding!

have a great evening!

luftballons.

guiliana + bill rancic announced they are having a boy at their baby shower yesterday.  i'm sure the party was perfection, considering the mindy weiss crew was hired to pull it off. dang, i wish i could've been there. the party decor displayed a mixture of blue + pink balloons - when it came time to reveal the baby's gender, the couple released a bunch of blue balloons in the sky. such a cute idea! how would you reveal your baby's gender? here are some creative ways i found on the net:
how fun would it be to order solid pink or blue confetti pops for
everyone to pop simultaneously! via
H+H designs.

you can order customized fortune cookies for the big surprise.
cake pop filled cookies? yes please! via mom365.
here are guiliana + bill's cute baby shower invitations + some other precious ones i found via the gender reveal blog. i want to do this for a friend's baby shower - i'm getting the fever!

did you catch the fever?
